GP Showcase Bearwood Medical Centre Diabetes Awareness & PPG Meeting
Healthwatch Sandwell are aware the challenges people facing regarding getting GP appointments, especially during the pandemic. We would like to capture the other side of GP surgeries, what are surgeries doing to improve the patient experience?
This will help:
• Inform patients about improvements the surgeries are making
• Build relationships with Practice Managers and Patient Participation Groups (PPG)
• Promote PPGs

This was launch event for Bearwood Medical Centre with a restart of PPG meetings in person. It was an opportunity for patients to find out more about diabetes, cholesterol, update on PPG, social prescriber introduction and how to sign up for the next meeting. Patients were also given bags with further information on diabetes and was offered the option for further diabetes support from a Social Prescriber. This will be followed up with a series of health awareness over the coming months.
