Accessing Healthcare in Sandwell: Homelessness Project Report 2020

The target population in this project were homeless people in Sandwell. Homelessness has a number of guises, for the purpose of the project HWS engaged with those:

who are registered as homeless1 and who are in priority need and will be entitled to support to be housed by the local authority. who can be considered as ‘hidden’ homeless such as those who are ‘sofa surfing’ with family or friends but do not have a permanent stable address.

• who are rough sleepers, being defined as "people sleeping, or bedded down, in the open air such as on the streets, or in doorways, parks or bus shelters” (edited)2 .

• staying in hostels or refuges (non-permanent supported accommodation).
