How can you help?
We know that local people can best represent the community of Sandwell, and have the local knowledge and experience needed to make us effective.
Become a Healthwatch Sandwell Volunteer.
Volunteers are an important part of the work that we do. They are the 'eyes and ears' of the local community, and are able to feed back to us what local people are thinking about local health and care services. Hearing local issues, comments and concern, volunteers also represent us at a local level, making sure all parts of the community in all of our six towns are listened to.
Healthwatch Sandwell volunteers can also:
Go along to local events and tell people about us
Help us carry out surveys and consultations
Give out Healthwatch Sandwell information to local people
Do anything helpful that you can offer, based on your skills and experiences that we haven’t thought of yet
Commit as much or as little time in helping us as you feel is right for you

Become an authorised Enter and View volunteer
Enter and View is a statutory power given to Healthwatch Sandwell. It allows our trained volunteers to visit local health and social care premises and see how they work for local people.
We talk to patients, relatives and carers and find out what they think about a particular service. We also look at how well staff members and patients get on, and the general condition of the premises. Recommendations for improvements are then reported back
The training you will receive to become an authorised Enter and View representative includes:
Healthwatch Sandwell Enter and View training
Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS)
And any training that is felt would be helpful
The nature of this role means that all representatives must have a current enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate, which we will help you to get.
